Licensed Psychologist in Sausalito, CA — Therapy for Marin County & Online Across California
Welcome! I'm Dr. Lindsay Mayott, a licensed psychologist in Sausalito, CA, offering individual therapy and psychological assessments to clients throughout Marin County and, virtually, to clients across the state of California. I specialize in working with women and non-binary individuals ages 16 and above who are experiencing anxiety, trauma, and ADHD. I also conduct psychological assessments for both men and women, including evaluations for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and complex presentations that would benefit from an in-depth assessment. If you're interested in psychological testing, learn more about my assessment services here.
In-Person in Sausalito & Southern Marin, Online Throughout California
I see clients in person in Sausalito, making it convenient for those living in Southern Marin — including Sausalito, Mill Valley, Tiburon, and Belvedere — as well as the wider Marin County community, including Kentfield, Ross, San Rafael, San Anselmo, Larkspur, and Corte Madera. For clients who prefer the flexibility of telehealth, or who live outside the North Bay, I also work as an online psychologist in California, providing virtual therapy statewide — from Southern California to the Central Coast and beyond. Whether you're looking for online anxiety therapy in California or prefer to meet face-to-face, we'll find the format that works best for your life and your goals. What Brings You to Therapy
Perhaps you're seeking therapy at this time because you're struggling to do daily activities as anxiety gets in the way, or you live in fear of experiencing panic attacks or trauma triggers. Or maybe you're so distracted and disorganized that you're struggling to complete important tasks or connect with others because you can't keep up in conversation. Whether you're seeking support during a crisis or hoping to better understand and change behaviors that are no longer serving you, I strive to meet you exactly where you are in your journey. I'll walk alongside you, providing a compassionate and safe environment where we work together to process your experiences and develop the tools you need to relieve distress so you can live your life more fully. I'll help you identify and utilize your personal strengths, and build your confidence in your ability to overcome current and future obstacles.
My Approach
My approach in the therapy room is compassionate and understanding, supportive and gently challenging, informative and knowledge-building, and collaborative and empowering. I enjoy working with individuals who are willing to work hard within the therapy room and between sessions — reflecting on our discussions and practicing individually tailored tools and skills outside of our time together. Clients with a willingness to try new approaches to their problems will likely find the greatest benefit in our work together. You can read more about my background and training here.
Evidence-Based Therapy for Anxiety, Trauma & ADHD
I'm trained in a variety of evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Process Therapy (IPT), Solution-Focused, Feminist, and Multicultural therapies. I tailor my therapeutic approach to your presenting concerns, drawing on my clinical knowledge of the most effective, evidence-based treatments available — whether we're meeting in my Sausalito office or working together as client and virtual therapist across California.
